Purchasing a refurbished mobo?

I have a computer that doesn't have the I/O plate. It works fine, but looks a little strange on the back. While the I/O ports' wires get slightly more dusty right behind where the plate would normally go, overall the inside of the computer doesn't seem to get more dusty than it would have with an I/O plate installed. Personally, since cheap motherboards aren't that expensive, I wouldn't buy one without an I/O plate.

(BTW, some people run their computer without even using a case.)

Maybe if he were using a bluetooth or another wireless adapter plugged directly into the ports without the I/O panel, though I still doubt it would be a problem. My wireless usb adapter has a weighted stand and a 3ft+ cord (to avoid knocking the adapter off the back and to allow better positioning for signal). I'm using it with that computer that doesn't have the I/O panel and I've yet to notice any interference. It would be a good question to ask one of the people who use a caseless setup though. If they don't get interference, then nobody would.

i ran a setup caseless for a while with a netgear wireless pci card and i had no interferience. i also use a usb wireless card after the netgear and that didnt do anything either. you should be fine.
