Purchasing and timing

Is it better (cheaper) till wait to after Christmas to purchase a laptop or does it not matter?

Also, does anybody know any good sites, like dell, where you can customize your laptop. Or sites that sell cheap laptops, and not like circuit city or best buy.

It's hit or miss with the sales this time of year. I'd price out a few systems not and keep an eye on them for a week or so. They might drop in price a bit, they might not - it's a crapshoot.

The good thing about waiting though is maybe you'll get generic giftcards (Visa, AMEX, etc.) that you can use towards something
