Putting a new version of XP on my Compaq

Alright I just finished putting in a new Mobo, CPU, memory, and PSU into my old compaq PC (using the Case, HDD, and Dvd drive), and I was just going to format the HDD but deleting the old windows partition during setup.
I got the PC all up and going, but when I try and boot up windows through the CD drive, it will take me to a log in screen and tell me I need to activate windows, instead of windows set up.

Can someone tell me how to be taken into windows set up please?!
Sorry if this question is a little simple for all yous computer gods out there! :D

btw, i have this Mobo:

ty for the help

Go to the system's bios, set it to boot to the CD-ROM, and boot up with your Windows disk.

However, you'll still have to reactivate it. You might be able to call microsoft and get it reactivated since you upgraded. Otherwise you'll need a new copy of XP as you have a "new computer"

I do have a new copy of XP.
My compaq didn't come with one, so i got the new one.
So could you tell me what I'm supposed to do after I activate windows? (don't want to mess anything up)

problem fixed!
when it asked me to "press any key to boot from CD" it didn't recognized me pressing a key, since I had a USB keyboard in. I switched to a PS/2 one and it worked fine!
