Hello ppl,

My friend has recently got a iPhone 3G 8GB.

She is wanting to know if there is any way to block certain people/contacts on the iPhone as she is getting some pretty nasty calls and texts from someone?

Is there anything in the standard software that comes with it to do this, if not is there any sorta application you can download to block/bar certain people?

That's a thing you call AT&T with. They can block numbers. Or, she can change her number and only give the new number to trusted people.

There's no facility to do that on any phone I don't think.

Follow the advice of MouSe and contact your network about it.

I think my friend downloaded something for his iphone (it's jailbroken however), and it can block calls from certain numbers.

Yeah you can do just about anything on a jailbroken phone but jailbreaking a 3G is risky, people have lost their Bluetooth and WiFi and although most of them got their Bluetooth again their WiFi was permanently gone.

Yes there is a jailbroken app that allows to set up black lists that deny numbers access to your phone. iBlacklist I think is what it is called.
