I had this msn virus and went about cleaning it up, but during that process my computer shut itself down and upon the next startup the famous "windows has recovered from a serious error" message popped up.

I did all the scans i could think of, norton 360, spybot search and destroy, lavasoft adaware, ccleaner, hijackthis and even an online trend micro scan. So practically nothing nasty including idle registry entries and whatnot are on my system.

However a problem still persists - pc hangs on the desktop after startup for longer than it ought to. I've disabled all the system.ini things and startup programs one by one to no avail, but one thing that I've noticed in the start up list is something called "qkuadllmglgy". In the analysis of my hijackthis scan it was not recognised and typing into google returns NOTHING. I deleted it with hijackthis but it's back again. When I seach my computer for it an .exe in system32 called "qkuadllmglgy" appears and it looks mighty dodgy to me.

Seeing as google yielded no results does anyone have any idea what this is or how to go about removing it?
 
Hi, please post a HijackThis log for us to make sure that your system is completely free from the trojan.

Download HijackThis to a permanent folder such as My Documents.

After the download is complete, navigate to the folder where you have saved HijackThis.exe .
  1. Double click on HijackThis to open the tool.
  2. Close all other open windows and click on "Do a system scan and save a logfile".
  3. After the scan is complete, please copy and paste your log here.

Download and Run ComboFix
If you already have Combofix, please delete this copy and download it again as it's being updated regularly.
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end.
