Quad Monitor Setup

Ok here's what i have, i Have a gigabyte mother board with one agp slot and an ATI Radeon x1600. What i want to do is create a quad monitor setup all controled by this one computer (obviously i'll have to use a pci card of some sort) and still hopefully be able to play games. I tried an Nvidia card already a geforce 6200 and didn't have any luck (i think it was DOA though) and i tried a radeon 7200 but i think that was too old because i had driver issues and games were no longer supported because they claimed my computer didn' thave a video card. Any Ideas?

Hm I seemed to have no trouble running two video cards (one AGP and one PCI). Im using an AGP x850pro and a PCI fx5500. My computer defaulted to the PCI card upon installing the OS, but once I installed the drivers I switched them back and it worked perfectly. I think you should try the 6200 again (a good one), I dont see why it won't work.

I think i might buy an X1300 pci card just so i can run the same set of drivers for both. Do you think that would work? Also do you think i should reinstall my operating system i've heard that windows can't seem to get the configuration right unless you have it setup before you install the operating system.

I hate to keep bumping this thread, but i'd really like to know if anyone has any information on this topic.

I know you can have 4 monitors when you have 2 cards in your pc, (for example with sli disabled, i can hook up 4 monitors) however, I'm not sure if its a good idea to get 2 cards of the same brand, and use them in an unusual setup. I'd rather go for 1 nvidia card and 1 ati card, and if both cards work, as far as I know there shouldnt be a problem.

Well, i'd agree with you but i'd think the drivers would have a horrible fight to the death with that kind of setup rather than 2 cards of the same brand.
