Newegg pulled a fast one during the summer months when ordering the 6000+ X2 model here. It was ordered for $229.99 to see it down to $169.99 the following week after the cpu and other items came in.

In January when everyone is done shopping for 2007 they will probably see a price drop as an after holidays type sale as well as other vendors for a January type clearance. Like everyone else you just have to keep browsing the vendor(s) you order from to see if they come down.
