I am getting a Q6600 and i am stuck on which mobo i should get. I have been doing research for a few days and i have narrowed my selection down to these two mobos. ASUS P5N32-E SLI and the EVGA 122-CK-NF68-A1 nForce 680i SLI.

I will be using this comp for multimedia editing(No Video Editing) and gaming(CS, Diablo, BF, ect...).

Has the 680i heating problems been fixed? Also if anyone has any other mobo suggestions please feel free to tell me.

Thanx,
Staplerz

I'm running the P5N32E-SLi and have nothad any problems with it at all . Also I know the Evga board is very popular . I use the E6850 C2D and I'm waiting for the new Intel Quads to come out so I can upgrade. I do know that if you go with the Asus board be sure to update to the current bios and make sure your memory is compactable. As for the temps My board runs about 38C idle and 45C under a load. My cpu is at 25C idle and 48C under a load with a Zalman 9700 cooler.

Theres a new Quad coming out?? do you know how much longer because ill wait if its soon.

the Q9450 is supposed to be relased from intel Jan. 2008.
It boasts 2.66 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB, and 12(yes thats 12)Mb of level 2 cache.
if they stick to their $316 price point this will be the Deal of the year.

I was going to purchase the Q6600 but two months and $45 more gives you a lot more processing power.

I own the 680i, and it's awesome. The 700 series boards are being released November 12. Something to think about...
