gamedrive creates an ISO that has worked with 1/3 of the games i've tried it with. (aoe3 being the working one)

Gamedrive 9.0 has worked with everything that I have tryed it with, It came with my video card.

same. have you tried fear or bf2? those are the two that didn't work for me..

Nope, I'll prabally try BF2 sometime though, I havn;t ever taken it out of my CD-Drive yet :P ust got the game.

thanks, i'll repost to tell how it went.

lesson learned: never use a windows 95 cd drive to install windows on your computer...

nooooooooo. you install it all wrong. Here let me help you out?
First install the first cd
second cd
third cd and so on. Then it will tell you to install cd one again. After you do that you go to this website i'm about to give you for the patch.

click on the website I gave you: http://www.strategyinformer.com/pc/quake4/patch/2843.html

Then on the bottom of the very very very page click on Initiate download.

This works for me. I didn't need a cd for single player nor multiplayer. :D I was very pleased what quake 4 did. :D ;)

If not aim me at [email protected] I will send you the download. I still got the download version.

ok, the quake 4 disk is a DVD! Most old cd drivers dont read DVD roms. There is only one disk!

And you bought a Quake 4 DVD when you did not own a DVD drive? You did not download this did you?

If you own the actual DVD then you need to go out and get a DVD. If you downloaded it then end of discussion.

Edit:

Never mind your first post said you ripped it to the HD using a DVD drive. But you later confuse with mentioning a Win95 CD ROM. Listen... If you borrowed a DVD drive and ripped it to your computer (I'm guessing you did this) Then I suggest you go out and get a DVD ROM and use it. If this is not an option for you (they are cheap) then Google is your friend. There are no CD/DVD cracks out there for people that own the game. Thing is some folks download the games illegally. Your situation sounds suspicious.

Edit Again!:

lesson learned: never use a windows 95 cd drive to install windows on your computer...

You have made this post a bit more confusing then It needed to be ;). What does installing windows have to do with your game? Also you can install any version of windows on an old slower drive from the win95 days. Will just take you longer.

My suggestion... In your next post explain it all from the beginning ;). You want to get Quake 4 running? you own the DVD? Did you borrow a DVD drive to rip it to your HD? Leave out crap like "lesson learned: never use a windows 95 CD drive to install windows on your computer" as it has nothing to do with your game not running. You later complain about the game not running because you cannot put your DVD into your old CD-ROM?... that had nothing to do with installing windows. You knew you could not use your CD-ROM already as you had to borrow a DVD from someone to rip it to your HD... Right? You downloaded this game right? ;).

I beg that you clarify and leave the extra crap out.

Hey Blue are you talking about me? I did not download my Quake 4 of any sites. I Brought my own Quake 4. Then I click on the update button for the patch then it works on mine. Oh yea! And my was on sale 37 dollars something around there. :D

Savagenator- You just got ripped off man. You can't rip dvd drives. You need it to install it from the cd. Well anyways If you don't have a dvd drives what's the point of playing quake 4. Besides if you borrow a dvd drives from a friend or someone else it might not fit into the slot. You can't not just stick it in there. You have to take out the case and put it in. You might end up destroying your computer.

Raditz- My advice is buy a new computer that can play games and has a dvd drive from now on. :P

ok, i need to clear things up. My bro's computer has a DVD drive. His computer was prebuild so i cant do anything at all to get that drive out of his coputer. I got the DVD free with my 7800GT, and it was not protected. I copied the files from the DVD straight to my external HDD. From there i put it on my new computer that had a windows 95 CD drive which i used to install windows onto the computer with. Then i installed it by running the installation .exe (then i realized i had to put in the DVD)

@Blue: i was just kidding around, i was indirectly stating why i couldn't put a DVD in my new comptuer drive... (and it took forever to install windows [i'm kidding again!])

@Raditz: The DVD wasn't protected, just had files on it.

ok, i finnaly updated it, now i'm on the part with the spider popping out of nowhere! (i keep falling!?)

Of course I was not raditz... Did I quote you? anyhow no I was not.

Ahhhhhhhh that is more clear. Well you do realize that yes it is protected ;). What you wanted to do was not copy the files but rather use software like Nero to make an ISO file. You then could have put the ISO file onto the HD and used Somthing like Daemon tools to install from the image file created.

I see... :P.

I'm pretty sure there is still protection on the disk. If you open a disk with protection in explorer you will still see files and be able to copy them. The protection however you do not see.

ok, i finnaly updated it, now i'm on the part with the spider popping out of nowhere! (i keep falling!?)

So you got it going now? Well however you acomplished that congrates.
