QUAKE 4 is the best game i have ever played it is so so so good. the game is soo smooth anf the graphcifs are the best get the game





post what u think of the game
 
Yea it's pretty damn good :). Replay value is Awesome if you play multi player :P. Of course I'm on my first time through so replay value on the single player mission I'm not sure of but I'd imaging besides trying to beat it on all difficulty levels it'll play through mostly the same way through each time. I always enjoyed Quake 3 and the multi in Quake 4 is the same high pace game play. I'll be very excited if they come out with the threewave mod for it as I've said before :).
 
are there missions and stuff? or is it just a big frag fest like q3 arena(not that there is anything wrong with that)?
 
Let me know what the Replay value is like once you've beaten the game. Then I can decide if I'll buy it or not

The missions are so-so, MP is the major point of it though (kinda like UT2004 but with a bit more of a emphasis on SP ... but not to the point of say, Republic Commando)

Hahaha FEAR Multiplayer + tweaked INIs to make it a tactical shooter = goddamn :D :P

Oh no the single player is nothing like Q3... As a matter of fact I don't think there are even bots :S. Anyhow the multi is just like Q3 but the single player is story driven and it picks up right where Quake 2 left off. If you played Quake 2 as I did many many times :) then you need to play Quake 4.

I'll play F.E.A.R. just as soon as I'm done with the Quake 4 single play.

I don't really think so no. But I personally recommend it if you can look past playing Quake 2's very dated graphics. It was an excellent game and I really enjoyed it. Also you would not have to play Quake 1 as Quake 2 did not really follow Quake 1 :S. ID likes to screw with your brain that way. Its like the following.

Quake 1

Quake 2 (don't follow Quake 1)

Quake 3 (don't follow Quake 2)

Quake 4 (Follows Quake 2)

I'm confusing myself now :).
 
Not yet that I know of no. ID if they ever come out with a demo it's always well after the came is released. Guess they Like to concentrate on the bigger picture. Also Anyone else hear that the ID have released their Q3 engine? Its available for a free download off the ID website. I know its outdated but I think someone could still build something good out of it. Also it gives those interested something to tinker with, pull apart and dissect so to speak :).
 
Bummer....that sucks there is no demo, quake brings back some good memories.....in high school, quake 2 demo was dl'ed on almost every pc in the school. At any given time during the day, you could hop on and there would be a LAN game up and running. It was hilarious.....teachers would be yapping about the scientific method and people would be engrossed in a LAN game of quake. Good times.
 
Quake 4 rocks! I cant wait to get my new PC built so I can play with full graphics.. DUEL 7800GTX's IN SLI BABY.. YEA!!!!

And yea.. same thing here. When i was in college, we had our laptops (Computer programming). We were always playing Counter-Strike in the back of the room with the Networking kids in the other class room. Good times!

Practice of course. Also lots of practice with rail for accurate and deadly shots. While using rockets never aim directly at the person but rather look for the splash damage, shoot around the feet with rockets etc. Rocket jumping and plasma climbing will get you out of a tight spot fast.

Edit:

Oh yea and change your FOV to about 125, you'll be amazed the difference it makes.

FOV AKA "Field Of Vision" by default it is set to 90. If you set it to say 125 then your field of vision becomes very wide and you'll see opponents much faster then you would with default. Kinda like having eyes on the side of your head LOL. This puts you at a major advantage over other players that play with the default FOV. Some would consider this cheating but that is lame, Anyone can make such changes. I've argued with many in the past over such issues. If anyone can make the change as it was an option implemented in the engine then it's not cheating. Especially when most people do make such changes then the newb comes along and wonders why he was owned.
 
if its built in the game there, punkbuster won't do anything about it there. why would they integrate cheating in with the game?
