quantum chip?

i did some reading on this a while ago.... i have trouble understanding the very basics of standard cpu architecture.... this three state thing further confuses me lol
does it mean that we start we start using 3^x for data instead of 2^x? lol

honestly..i have no idea...

too bad they said that the chip won't be good for gaming..atleast not anytime soon. Think of the power you'd have...

if its as powerful as they say i dont think it being crap at gaming is an issue here. but in the end the best way to think about it is this... the original intel chip they used in checkout tills wasn't any good for gaming but look what it lead to

wow.. i kind of get it but really have no clue....

God that confused me! So what will this mainly be for if it's not targeted for gamers?
Researchers believe quantum systems will be much more efficient at rock-solid cryptography and mass database searches
and i dont think it will be open to the public anytime soon. more like once they kno it works the military will jump right on it.

This is bleeding edge technology, not viable for many years. They need to prove the concept before real develeopment can occur. I looked a data transfer on a quantum level before, in my mind its viable. The japanese are leading the field in this reasearch so far, i knew a professor Bayrnes at Cams (i think he's moved now) that was looking into the field, it mind boggling complex when you dive into it.
