question about 64 bit windows and gaming

ok my build is prolly lil different then whats in my signature at the moment but its a Q8400 2.66ghz 8 gigs of ram windows 7 64 bit mode OS.

the problem i wanted to ask is is there any way to play 32 bit games on 64 bit windows like for one i noticed that i have a nba 2k10 game for my computer and i bought it last year b4 i made the 64 bit switch but i am not sure if its compatible or not when i go to ms website it says stuff about other games in the windows compatibility list.

but i was afraid to install nba2k10 cuz i wasnt sure if it would work in 64 bit without a huge problem and is it worth trying to find out whats the worse that could happen?


plus it doesnt say whether some older games i have a compatible i also have tomb raider legend which im not sure if its compatible but heres my last question

i have single boot of windows 7 64 bit should i dual boot so i can play 32 bit games
 
32 bit games should have no problems playing in a 64 bit OS. You just can't install 64bit into a 32 bit OS. Some of the older games may have issues but you can always try compatibility mode on those.
 
As john said most if not all 32 bit games will work on 64 bit. And adding to this most 32 bit programs will work just fine on 64 bit windows. Most importantly NBA2k10 will work just fine.
 
thank you for your help im gonna install it cuz it said something about framework when i tried the other day is not fully compatible with my version of windows so i got nervous thinking the game wouldnt work.

You mean Microsoft Net Framework? There are certain apps/games that require this software to be installed in order for it to work correctly. It has nothing to do with either 32 or 64 bit OS, it all depends on the application being installed. I know the catalyst software for ATI cards requires Net Framework to be installed.
 
yes net framework is what im talking about says 1.1 has to be installed but when i get ready ti tells this program has known compatibility issues then it ask me to check online but not sure if thats gonna help gonna see if i can get the game working anyways
 
If you have Microsoft Updates turned on it should pickup that you need NET Framework updates and update it accordingly.
