Hi Im going to be getting a 7800gTx then another for Sli but I wont be getting the second one for a while so..

anyways I was just wondering how long untill 7800gtx turns into what i have (4800 ti) LOLZ i know it wont be for a while but..you know how long before its ..well not worth the 500 bucks??

thanks....

the 7800gtx will be the top Nvidia card for about 5-6 months . Not upto date on Nvidia roadmap so i'm not aware of there next offering, somthing around the G72 G73 gpu perhaps (Tweaker ??).
But dont dispair the 7800gtx will still be a top end card for a good while longer, probably seeing in 2-3 years of great gaming, before moving into a lower mid range card. Give it a year or two longer before its on par with the 4800 series.

You're pairing an extremely expensive video card(s) setup with an older machine. My only advice is to upgrade the rest of your system before you go spend close to $1000 on video cards alone. What motherboard do you have...does it even support SLi?

Having dual 7800gtx cards running in SLI is nothing but overkill and for bragging rights. That card can easily handle anything thrown at it as long as the rest of the system is on par with it. Also, you HAVE to get a new mobo as your current one has AGP bus, not PCI-e. You need at very minimum 512 more RAM (assuming your current RAM is even, at minimum, PC3200). You need a much faster processor. You ABSOLUTELY need a new power supply. What is the response time on your monitor? If its high and you want to game, well, you're gonna need a new one of those. You only have a 60gig HDD...do you need a new one? no. I can tell though, 60gigs goes really fast, especially with the size of games today. You need all of this to even get a hint of what the 7800GTX is capable of. Save your money, first things first, get a new mobo, new processor, a $hitload more RAM, power supply, then get the vid card. After all that, if you happen to have another $500 laying around in the piggy bank, sure, grab another 7800GTX.

lol guys guys guys...im getting a new comp completely this one in my sig im going to sell lol...man no1 in there right mind is gonna buy even a x800 on this piece o' crap machine..lol

You can never assume anything man. People have been in here saying "hey can someone help me, my computer wont turn on when I push the button". Eventually, all it was was the power cord was unplugged. See what im saying?
