Question about buying WoW: TBC

i personly hate wow, but you have to buy the full game10-50 dollars tand that comes with 1 month, then you can buy expansion packs and they dont come wwith a free month i blieve u just pay 15 dollars a month

if you are looking for a free (no monthly subsciption fee) MMORPG, try looking for Guild Wars... i know this might go into a fan debate between WOW and GuildWars but im meerly suggesting another MMORPG that you might want to take a look at if you are discouraged by the monthly fee...

Just so you know, less they changed things recently, you only get the one month free when you pay for a month or use a game card. You have to pay for the first month, then they give you the extra month for free.

Wow did this, Everquest, Eq2. Most pay to play mmo's do this. You dont really just get the first month for free. Really they give you half off the first two months if you think about it that way.

So ya, you have to pay for a month to get the second free. Like I said, less they changed things, which I doubt it.

And no, you dont get another month free for the expansion.

also keep in mind that until you hit level 58 there really is no point in having TBC. unless you wanted to make a blood elf/dranei character.

I have to second that. I've played both World of Warcraft and Guild Wars and in the end I think Guild Wars is better. It's not entirely free though; you have to buy the discs. I got "Game of the Year Edition" cheap from Amazon. :D

IMO they are both good games, i have only played a bit of guild wars and I have a few lvl 60s and a 68 in WoW. I like the point in guild wars you have no campers, when you leave town you are in your own instance of the world with no one other then your party. also i like the travel system of guild wars
you can teleport from town to town ( no 10+ min flights ).

The above posts are correct you have to buy wow first and you get a free month, then if your not burnt out you can buy TBC and you get no free month

I love the travel system of Guild Wars too. If you don't want to go out and purchase the original World of Warcraft, you can download the trial off the internet and buy your serial number directly from Blizzard. I think it's about $20 or something and includes your free month so the serial number / account creation itself costs only about $5 there. The download is over 3GB and takes a while.
