Question about Desktop game

Is it safe to play a game on your desktop, without having the game in the computer?

For example..
Download Unreal Tournament 3, Install, Take disk out of Computer, launch game, play

I know its possible because I do it..
But is it safe?

I mean purchase the game, install, and play.

But I just found out I acn play the game without having the disk in the computer

So if it's safe to do that, I was gonna just sell the game..

I think it's the same as playing with the disc. Make sure you don't have an illegal copy that has a virus or something.

wal mart is not great, game should be fine, i would burn a copy of it if you plan on selling it just in case

It is perfectly fine. If it will even load at all, it's great. I know for a fact that larger file games require the CD (like BattleField 2).
