question about dual boot Win 7 Ultimate and Win 8 Pro

I read today that MS is going to release Win 8 Pro for $39.99 digital upgrade ($69.99 for physical media, here is the article from Time). Of course it requires a valid Win XP, Vista, or 7 install. I am running Win 7 Ultimate installed from a System Builder disc. Would it be possible to upgrade my install and then reinstall 7 Ultimate in a dual boot environment?

Yes, OP you can most likely dual boot both.
Though, imo Windows 8 is terrible

I installed Windows 8, I shrunk my SSD volume and partioned. I dont like 8... I am sticking with 7
