question about dual screens

i have a video card with dual DVI output. now if i bought 2 19" monitors and set it up in a dual monitor set up if i was playing say Counterstrike at 1280X1024 will the second monitor have my desktop on it, or will it be just blacked out because of the game? or would i have to have the game windowed (so not fullscreen)?
 
It will stay as it was before you loaded up the game.

So, if you had a MSN window open, or iTunes so you can see what you're listening to, in the second screen, it would stay open as the game opened.

Obviously, if you pause, then go over to MSN or iTunes, and click, the game will minimise itself.
 
off topic but the would be GRAND if they made dual display game. like it shows behind u or a map or sumthing.

it would, but only for single player games. It would be an unfair advantage in CSS if you have your second screen displaying what's behind you where people with one screen cannot.
 
I saw a screenshot of a guy who had CSS modded for dual monitors...the only thing that sucked was that hte vertical portion of the crosshair was right at the split of the two monitors. It is kinda an unfair advantage cause u can see tons
