Question about dual slot cards

Hey everyone. I was wondering, length aside, does your case need to be made to accommodate a dual slot card? Speaking directly about the place where the ports stick out of the case. I have a massive case, but the frame where the card ports stick out of are only single gaps...I hope I managed to say that clearly enough..its quite late

Nope, your case doesn't need to be specially made.

If its a true dual slot card it just takes up two slots in the back of the case and will probably cover the next PCIe/PCI slot on the board.

If it just has a extra wide cooler it on it. It might only covers the next PCIe/PCI slot on the board but only uses one slot on the back of the case.
