I have a laptop and a 32" LCD HDTV and i wanted to know 2 things:
1. If i can just buy a VGA cable so i can display my screen through my tv.
2. If i can have dual screens, one screen on my laptop and the other on my LCD.

Thanks

1. no, you would need more things to do this.
2. Do you have S-video out? You can do this but the quality id not so good.

1. Yes, assuming the LCD TV has VGA input and your laptop has VGA output(which I'd assume both do :P)

2. More than likely, yes... basically all laptops support duel monitor support anymore. However, not knowing the make/model of the laptop, I couldn't say for sure.

Um...Trizoy, care to explain your answers some more?

well replyin to the first post- yes i have a S-Video in both and i plugged it into both but i didnt find it on the tv probably because i didnt know where to find it on the tv

That's not the model...eh, but it's enough.

VGA is the way to go if both laptop and TV have the connection. On most laptops you can press the Fn(function) button and one of the top F buttons to enable VGA output. On my laptop, you press Fn+F5 to cycle though just LCD > LCD+VGA out > just VGA out. Some machines do detect if you have a monitor plugged into the port, but some(like mine) will enable/disable the port whenever you want.

If you don't see the command on your keyboard right off, take a peak in the manual. I'm sure it'd mention something there about enabling VGA out. Same for your screen and what input mode you should be on.

ok now all i have to do is buy a VGA cable and ill be set
Thanks man. ill message u if i have problems or anything like that.
