More curious than anything. Never seen it talked about here i don't think. Besides why not, where and does the online scan fix anything. NO,......dont have any issues, but have had people ask about it.
thanks..

I wouldn't trust online scanners. Many of them are scams and you dont know which one really works good.

Online scans are used when anti-virus programs cannot be run on the victim computer however most cannot actually deal with the infection they can pinpoint where it is, this information can be used to create a ComboFix/KillBox/Avenger script to take care of the offending files.

Use Firefox with the WOT (Web of Trust) add on and you're good to go, just don't trust any of the red (bad) rated websites and only use/go to the ones that have a positive rating.

Thanks i never knew there was that kind of add-on for Firefox. :)

I've never had any luck with online scanners personally. They are good for knowledge I guess since most of them only scan and cannot repair. Housecall was good back in the day.

most online scanners use some sort of java which installs locally on your PC, thats a no no in my book, go with AVG free addition ;)
