My wife's PC's PS just died recently so I bought a Corsair 500watt power supply. It was working fine for 3 weeks and now it shut off by itself and will not fully power on at random. I think the power supply is faulty or not enough power.
Here are the computer specs. Is 500 watts enough or do I need more?
Asus P5N-D mobo
Intel Quad Core Q9500
4x 2Gig OCZ DDR3 Ram
1x 500GB sata drive
1x 80GB IDE drive
1x DVD RW
1x GeForce 9500GT 1GB
1X Audiology sound card
7x 120mm Fans
After market CPU cooler
I used several different power consumption calculators and they all say I need 550 to 650watts.
So was the 500watt power supply just a bit too small?
Thanks for any and all information.
