Question about processors

Hi!

I recently purchased a canon camea whose system requirements for uploading video are intel core 2 duo 2.6 ghz or newer. My laptops os is intel core 2 duo 1.5ghz.

My question is If i purchase a new computer with a intel core i-3-5-7 processor do the ghz have to be a minimum of 2.6 or can they be lower? Thanks so much

p.s the camera, if you are interested is the Canon Elph 300HS
 
Either way, the software should work. It may just take a little longer with the slower Core2 Duo.

If you got an i3, speed would not matter as the Corei3 has a different architecture than the Core2 Duo.
 
hmm...well ive tried uploading video in 1080p on the computer and youtube and it just lags and is not fast whatsoever...you dont think the icore3 would allow the video to perform to its full potential?
 
an i3 is way more powerful then a core 2 of same or even their highest ghz, the ghz is how many cycles per second, but the i3 will do like twice as much per cycle, same as a pantium 4 v a core 2, core 2 rapes the pentium.
 
what are you looking at for price of the laptop and any gaming going on,i can look around for you some, but i mostly look on newegg and they've always got some good deals going
