When the Galaxy 5 came out i got it. Im using it now. I have a older Galaxy 3 that I want to give to one of the grand children. Someone says i have to unlock it. what ever that means. How do i do it?
 
You only have to unlock it if it isn't going to be on the same carrier that you had it on (Verizon, AT&T, etc.). What did you have it on and what service does your grandchild have?
 
I have Att. It would go likely on her mothers account. Another carrier. I think my daughter would be interested in using it and give the grand daughter her phone. All i know at the moment she is changing carriers soon.
 
Well if she's switching to AT&T just wait and give it to her. Otherwise depending on the carrier the guide to unlock it may vary.
