Question about the Geforce FX 5500

I have a friend with a computer and a fx500 video card with two VGA ports. She wants to hook up two monitors and have the desktop come up on each display instead of having the desktop spread out across two displays. Is that possible without a VGA splitter?
 
you wont need a VGA splitter for that. you can simply put 1 monitor on each port, go into the drive settings and enable dual monitor setup :)

with a VGA splitter, you would just create a exact copy of your first screen ;)
 
My friend does want the exact same desktop on both screens. I can get the desktop spread across both screens. It's getting the same thing on both screens that I'm having trouble with.
