Question About Upgrading Gateway RAM memory.

Hello guys,

My question is about upgrading the memory of my new Gateway. The specs of my computer are:

Intel Core Duo Procesor E4300
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950
320 GB SATA II Hard Drive
1024 MB DDR2 (512x2)
I got 4 slot for memory

I will like to know if I buy 2, 1GB memory will I still be able to use the two 512 cards together that way I will make my computer 3GB?

If the board has 4 RAM slots then you can just add the RAM in without taking any out, if not you will have to remove the 2 512MB sticks. I don't know which is the case for your machine, the easiest way to see is to pop the side panel off and look at the RAM. Or you could check the manual or post the model you have and someone will look it up.
 
I got 4 slots. My question was, would it matter if I used two 1gb and two 512 in the same MOBO by doing this it will take my computer to 3gb insted of 1gb. I want to know if it will post ony problems to my system
 
No problems. Unless its DDR2 5300 on some and some lower type of DDR on another. that will take the higher DDR2 and decrease it to the speed of the slower DDR.
