Question about wattage on dual core Athlon

what is the difference in the Athlon x2 CPU's that have different wattage? One is 35W, I see another at 65W and so on. Im about to order one from Newegg tonight and dont know which one to get.

I think ive decided on the Athlon 64x2 4600+ AM2 socket.

That depends on the board and what memory is supported. If you are running DDR2 667 on a model that supports DDR2 800 memory you can upgrade two ways there. What make and model is this for?

Actually I changed my question on ya PC eye, LOL. Sorry. I verified through Biostar's website that my MB and Bios does support dual core CPU's.

I went to shop for one on Newegg and that brought me to a whole new question. I figured instead of making another thread I would just change this one since I only had one reply so far. Thank you very much for your help though.

And everybody was worried about the 6000+ X2 125w model running warmer when that was ordered here? After 18hrs. of use plus even some gaming thrown in I barely hit the 32C mark for a cpu temp. The video card was about the same after a long session one day when checking up on it.
