question about virus protection and an virus.

okay
first of all i have malewarebytes anti maleware and avg free edition, which will i remove?
second, when avg free gets viruses and puts them into vault will they just stay tere?
and when i empty vault when the viruses be gone?
and third, there was some rootkit virus in WINDOWS that maleware bytes chaught, okay it said restart after i press remove threath then the comp started and it loaded much, then my sis wanted to shut down the comp and turn it back on and everytime now when i put the comp on avg says that resterd needs to be done cuz of update
avgs resident shield is also turned off and windows security alert says that virus protection is turned off.
this might have bin off topic but i rly need help

Uninstall AVG, reboot, and then reinstall AVG. Then please run malwarebytes and hijackthis and then post both logs back here.

now thats somthing o.o
but is it safe that i keep the 2 protections?
will i do more harm then good?

Malwarebytes is anitmalware and AVG is more antivurs so yes it's okay. There is some crossover of course but it's not like your running two full av programs at the same time. Just a note about AVG it does not scan for rootkits and the antispyware is poor at best. So AVG itself isn't safe to run alone.
