Question about WIndows 7

So when i built my computer it was mainly for gaming. I got windows vista 64bit because i heard 32bit systems cant run more then 3.75gigs of ram. So when all is said and done it runs like a charm, with one minor setback(im sure you have all seen this before), Vista + Wireless-G = BLOWS! I get random lag spikes so i went out and got a XP64 and it doesnt lag. Does Windows 7 still have this issue? I know its not my drivers because its fully updated and ive tried different wireless cards.

Just because your drivers are up to date, doesn't mean they will work well.

I have a "G" card in my Media PC with Vista Ultimate x86 and have had no issues, although I do not game on that machine, nor would I ever game through a wireless connection, for the reasons you've listed above.

Also:
Current 32bit operating systems can only use a maximum of 4 GB of address space; however, the amount of memory available to the operating system is less than 4 GB. Certain components within the computer require address space in the 4-GB range. Any address space reserved for these components cannot be used by computer memory.

Which means your computer will utilize all 4 GB of RAM, but your OS will not.

I game on my XP64 harddrive and it works like a dream. Vista works with internet, its not even noticeable when just surfing. But when you start to game and need a 100% stable connection is when its noticable. So just to clarify Vista does work with wirelessG, BUT i get random spikes. Browsing you cant even notice it, but gaming is where you see it. So on your system you wouldnt see it because you said you dont use it to game.

I understand the difference, which is why I would never choose to game on a wireless connection.

Do you have any walls between your computer and modem?

One thing you could try is making sure the connection is secure. Make sure you have a password setup so no leechers can use your connection.

Believe me, i have done everything :D Its just Vista, ive heard it works fine with wireless N, but i dont have N. XP works great so ill just stick with it for now. But back to the main subject, any one know if they fixed this issue in W7?
 
Windows 7 should automatically download all drivers that you need. There are few cases where you have to install it manually, but it should do it on its own.
 
I have installed various version of Windows 7 (Beta, RC, now Enterprise) both 32bit and 64bit. I have installed it at least 10 times on various machines.

I have yet to install a single driver on any of the machines.
