Hi all,
How does the wirless extender works? Can it be config to work with a specific router or it get signal from any router and bounce around? I and my brother live in the street, we are beside each other. I plan to put an extender in my house so all my house will covered, since he is so near and he also has one router, does the extender work with 2 routers or one? if is one, which one does it pickup?
Thank you.
Paul

Usually they only work with their own brand routers if i'm not mistaken. I'm not sure how well the signal would go from house to house depending on how close they were. In my opionion, I don't think this is what you are looking for.

Hi John,
My brother's house is right next to mine, It's about 25 feet from each other, My router is located at the middle of one end of my house, his is located on the middle house on the side near to mine.
When I took a laptop to the room at middle of my house on the side near to his house, I got 65% signal strength of my router and got 45% strenght from his router. Both of us are using Linksys wireless-g wrt54g routers. The extender is the linksys as well. So first I wonder if the signal will get mixed and interfere with each other. second we use different ISP at the moment, sometime my ISP has trouble I went to the room that get 45% signal to get some work done. (I plan to switch my ISP soon because it give more trouble recently.)
Well I don't get my extender in my hand yet. I am looking forward to see what would happen when I put the unit in the room that have both signals.
Thank you.
Paul
