What computer do you have?

You need to go to the manufacturer's website and see if they offer drivers for your computer, for Windows XP.

If they don't, and you install XP, some of your peripherals may not work, like Ethernet/Internet, Audio, Graphics...

I had a problem with drivers for my laptop.
To know what kind of drivers I really had to install, I used Uniblue Driver Scanner 2009. It is not a freeware, so without purchase you cannot download and install drivers with this scanner, but anyway, it is possible to know what kind of drivers you really need. After that you can download and install those manually.

if you download belarc advisor it will give you a pretty complete list of all the components in your machine you can print the list out that should make it easier to figure out what drivers you need.

You CAN NOT install the Windows XP SP3 on the Windows 7!!!
Windows 7 is different OS then Windows XP...

You can also turn off different options that are new in windows 7 like the new way the task bar acts. imo i would keep 7 because since its fast and reliable, the newer things won't be made for xp.
