Question for the Group on MicroWord

Hello everyone its Paul Brady from wa state USA. Im having a computer problem with micro word 2000. Everytime I try and bring it up everything freezes. The little hour glass just stays there and I cant even restart the computer without pulling the plug. I have many articles Ive saved on word and they wont come up anymore either. I tried the usual stuff, I defragd and reloaded microword from the disc. It still doesnt work. If anyone has any ideas I would be thankful. Peace.
 
Normal.dot file what,where and How?

Its Paul Brady from wa state USA. If the problem may be fixed by restoring the normal.dot file, well I still need to know how to do this. Where is this file and what is the procedure for restoring it. Paul.
