Question on Ethernet cords...

Hello

So I am looking to buy a new Ethernet cord, specifically a 25FT, looking at my options I discovered several categories of Ethernet Cables, mainly Cat 5, 5e, 6, and 6a

Now what I am wondering is, for a mid range gaming PC, and it just being used for mostly games / streaming, does it matter which I chose? If I have the option to get a 6 or 6a, should I go for it, or is it like over-kill?

Never really payed attention to Ethernet cables before, just went to the store and bought the first 25fter I found years back, now that I use websites for most of my online shopping (awesome deals) I get a bit more details on stuff and ask questions before purchasing.

Thanks!

Use Cat 5e. It is able to make a connection up to gig speeds. Cat 6 can go 10 gig but that is not necessary. I kinda doubt that your home router will allow for higher than gig connections. Using Cat 6 wouldn't be bad, but you would see no benefit from it on your desktop.
