Hi. Im new to this forum and I joined to find out if I should buy these comp parts so that they would improve my gaming and video editing experience. First of all i would like to be able to run Fraps while playing online games. So basically recording live. Currently I revieve major lag while doing this so Im thinking of buying a new processor and a motherboard.
The new proccessor would be

AMD HDT55TFBRBOX Phenom II 1055T Six Core Processor - 2.80GHz, 6MB Cache, 2000MHz (4000 MT/s) FSB, Retail, Socket AM3, Processor with Fan

and the motherboard will be
ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 Motherboard - AMD 890GX, AM3, DDR3, USB, RAID, ATX

My video card is a EVGA geforce GT 240 1GB DDR3.

My question is....will it be enough to run fraps flawlessly?
(BTW im running windows 7 and have 4GB of RAM 32bit)

What are you currently using CPU wise and is your motherboard after market? We may be able to save you some money with your current set up.

However a x6 will do just fine as I believe its on in the area with a i7 , however you might need to overclock it to 3.2ghz or so for gaming/fraps combo. Giving us your total full specs will give us a better idea on how to help you. Notice my signature it shows my entire system so people can help me with information of my system.

I think you should stick to the 890GX
In future if you plan to upgrade your video card or to bulldozer.

RAM - make sure you have DDR3 RAM.
Mobo - since you are with GT 240, there is no point you spend extra on 890GX chipset. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6089171&CatId=5538

quality depends on the brand of the board

The 890GX is a onboard video, plus does crossfire in 8X/8X board.

If your not going to be using onboard video or plan on running crossfire the 870 in the first link would do you just fine and save you some money.

I always thought the 790/890GX boards were a bunch of nonsense. Why would you pay for onboard video, if your interested in Crossfire.. The 790X and soon to be released 890X were the better crossfire boards, usually better quality boards because your not paying for the onboard.

If you not interested in onboard video or crossfire get the 870.
