Question on integrating PC with TV.

I just recently got a new PC (Gateway LX6810-01) which came with a TV tuner. I know nearly squat about this type of thing, and wish to learn about what I would need to hook our DirectTV satellite box up to the PC. Would just a simple RF-out (from the satellite box) to the RF-in (on the PC) be all that I would need?

Your help, as always, would be very much appreciated.

Well you could run the RF out from the DirectTV into the RF input of the PC TV Turner card. This would alow you to use the DirectTV with the PC. You would have to change channels on the DirectTV itself like when watching it on a TV. There is nothing I know of (disclamer I didn't google it) that would allow you to connect the DirectTV directly to the PC and use the PC as your turning device.

Thanks Lawson.

If I can't change channels from the pc itself, it would be all right. I did wonder about that capability, though, seeing as how my new pc came with a TV tuner, as well as a remote for it. But, again, it would be no problem in having to change channels from the box itself.
