Question on upgrading on A8M2N-LA (NodusM3)

Hi there

I am thinking about doing a processor upgrade. Currently I am running a AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ on a A8M2N-LA (NodusM3) motherboard - socket AM2. I am thinking about doing an upgrade to a Athlon II X2 250 (obviously it's a AM3 socket.) I am asking that is it possible to make the upgrade, and if so what changes will I have to make?

Additional info:

HP a1600n
Using the default BIOS, don't think I ever upgraded it.
2x 512 MB + 1x 2GB DDR2 RAM
A 250 GB SATA Hard drive + an older 8GB PATA Hard drive

The CPU and RAM would need replaced I believe, but everything else should be fine.

Athlon II x2 250 won't work.
You'll need to change the motherboard and CPU.

Or just a minor upgrade to Athlon 64 X2 5000+
