question on video in laptops

My laptop has both a 128 mb video card as well as integrated graphics. According to dxdiag, they work together to give me a total of 618 mb. However, when I play games, they only perform up to a 128 mb level. I know that integrated graphics are crap, but it seems that 618 mb should at least do something to boost my performance.

I guess my question would be: is there a way to get a game to use all 618 mb, and if not, is there a way to get it to use one or the other?

Thank you in advance for your advice and education.

Video memory is not an indication of performance. You can't say you're at a "128MB level" as I've seen 64MB cards out perform 512MB cards.

There are quite a few factors that go into video performance, but primarily the GPU chipset itself is the key performance indicator.
