Hi I bought a i7 3770k and I noticed that when I turn my computer on my fan doesn't start right away, well it turns slightly, then when I hear the computer beep the system starts up and everything starts working how it's supposed to be, is that supposed to happen?

just asking because the last time I built a computer the fans would keep slightly moving and then it would beep and redo it cause I didn't have the psu connecter in properly.

Should be okey if your temps are ok when you're working on your pc.
What cooler do you have and what temps do you get?

Yeah, alot of boards if you have the CPU fan plugged into the CPU fan port, the fan will fool around for a for a few seconds till the bios check is over then it will fire up to its nornal speed.

Thanks alot, I was wondering what was going on.

I noticed the same thing on my Celeron build. It's sensitive to the temp so at startup it hadn't warmed up yet to trigger it.

Well it really has to do with, at what point the bios has finished its checks and the bios takes control of the fan speed. You could load your CPU temps and do a shut down, then start it right back up and it will do the same thing if the CPU is hot or not.
