Question regarding Operating Frequency

I just have a question about AMD's Operating Frequencies...
I have 2700+ (2.167) and I will be probably buying AMD 3700+ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103539
It says that the 3700+ is running on 2.2 Ghz...
Could someone explain me the differences ???
And is it true that It's running on 2.2 Ghz ???
I'm confused

Which exact AMD do you currently have? i didn't know they made 2700's...


And yes its truw that runs on 2.2ghz, But you need to remember mhz IS NOT What determines the full speed of the CPU. Try reading CPU 101 in the cpu section.

I am almost ceratin you have the Athlon XP 2700+ right? Well the frequency is not everything. You have to take other factors into account. The A 64 3700+ is much more powerful, offers 64-bit capabilities and works more efficiently at almost the same frequency.

When it comes to AMD's you cant really look at the mhz/ghz its other things that make them fast.

In example AMD athlon 64 at 2.2ghz outpreforms a intel p4 at 3ghz
