Question revolving compatibility of foreign hardware

Hi All,

Excuse the nature of the question if this is not the right forum post.

I'll be travelling abroad to China in the near future. Currently I live in Canada and would like to bring back some computer parts Eg. Video cards, processors and RAM. to be used in my desktop.

If I were to pursue these purchases, would there be any compatibility issues in plugging a video card I purchased from China into a mother board that was purchased here in Canada?

Is there a concern revolving any wattage differences or any compability issuess? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in Advance.
