question wireless Dell Inspiron 5150 and netgear router

Out of town now with family. Looking at Dell laptop and getting to work on the wireless. It works with a cat5 cable fine. Notice im loosing the time and date and suspect its a internal battery for the bios somewhere. I can't find it. No manual either. Every time i try to connect to the router it ask me to change the password to either 5 or 13 characters on the router. All the rest work fine.
Any ideas to run with or thoughts?

Also its XP 32 bit.

If the cmos is resetting because of a bad battery then you will need to replace it before the wireless will work correctly due to bad security certificates. Most likely the laptop will have to disassembled to get to the battery.
