Hey everyone!
I'm looking into getting a decent computer for myself (Not bad though- but one with capabilities that can at least play something like Battlefield 2142/Battlefield 2). I'm a kid, so I can't spend too much (I make all of my own money), but I also want to get a good computer if I spend that much on something. So, to get to the point. I need a pretty cheap computer (PC) around the 500-800 price range with a good graphics card for games. My mom wants me to get a laptop though. So if you can recommened a cheap and good gaming laptop (That's hard to come across), please tell me, but I just need to know if theres a good desktop that fits my prefences. Would Dell be my best shot?

Thanks!

:D

your best shot would be building your own computer, do you know how to do that or have any friends that could do it for you?

Uhh, well, my dad has his own computer company, and he's built his own, so I think I'll be fine. Hehe.
How much would it be to build a good gaming computer?

first off u wont be able to get a laptop for 800 that will play many games.. ur alot better off with a desktop.. secondly if u do buy a pc dont buy a dell.. make your own, however u say ur new to this so building a pc probably isnt an option so your best bet is to call ur local pc shop and ask them what type of computer they can build you for your budget.. try a few different stores, write down what specifications they give u and then tell us and im sure someone here can assist u as to which one is better:) besides building a pc is alot cheaper than buying a pre-made pc:)

you could build a decent computer (core2duo, 2Gb RAM, 8800GTS) for under $1000. but that doesnt include a monitor, operating system, and definitely not a fancy case or highend CPU. but it would play games pretty well! but if your dad has his own computer company, could he maybe get you something pretty nice? if you want something future-proof, or something you can play games on max settings, you are going to need to spend $1200-$1300, and you can get a decent monitor for under $250
