Questions About My G5

i have a couple questions about my G5, and just mice in general for that matter. first of all i noticed i can change the report rate from 125-1000, currently i have it set at 500. what will changing this do and will it help me out with anything? will i notice a difference? also a question about DPI; does increasing it to like 2000 make a difference in anyway as opposed to 800? like would i be better playing with a lower sensitivty and higher DPI? or would it make no difference. thanks for any input.
 
Higher DPI makes the mouse move slower in comparison to what you actually move the mouse. So Higher DPI is for Sniper shots basically. I would assume Higher Report Rate would mean that the Faster the mouse communicates with your PC but, dont quote me on that.
