Questions about transferring windows 7 between places.

So I have Windows 7 pro right now, but all I have of the rig I'm building is a temporary GPU and a DVD burner. My current system has the specs to run it, however, though without Aero. I was thinking of trying it out for a bit, but I don't know how much of a hassle it is to deal with MS while transferring it to the new system.

Second, how difficult/safe is it to use sysprep to swap motherboards? I know this will trigger a new activation sequence, hence question 1, but how hard is the process itself?

And third, after I get it on the new system, can I run it on an old hard drive for a while and then reinstall it on a new one without reactivating again? I may not have the money to get all of the parts at once, so the new system may very well be sitting on my desk running without a case for a bit. If I can get by with an old IDE drive for a while, it would be nice, because I may have no other option. (I'm not downgrading the rest of the build)

If you bought Retail, you'll have no issue.

Any other version will probably require you to call Microsoft to get it activated.

You can run it for 30 days without activating, if that helps.
