Quick format and Standard format, Whats the differance?

Whats the differeance in quick and standard format for a harddrive. Cause standard takes way too long for a big harddrive, and i've neva done a quick one, what do they do differantly? and y is a standard format better?

If you choose the Quick format option, format removes files from the partition, but does not scan the disk for bad sectors. Only use this option if your hard disk has been previously formatted and you are sure that your hard disk is not damaged.

Also, a quick format will just remove the file tables (the index of files), wheras a full will write over the data.

don't be in such a hurry, give it the full format, a 250 gb serial ata in standard format took a little over an hour. format it, have a session with your girlfriend, and when your done so will the format.
