Quick format

As I'm sitting here waiting for almost an hour now for my old laptop drive to format, I'm wondering if I had chosen 'quick format', would there have been any disadvantages to just a regular format?

Theirs really not too big of a difference. I always hit quick when formatting.

I didn't think so, I think this is the first time I haven't clicked it...I guess cause I haven't formatted it since I got the laptop I figured it would be a good idea.

Full/Regular Format scans for bad sectors while formating which is why it takes so long. A quick format just formats
