Quick Help with wierd question

I'm not even sure this is possible, My friend just bought a memory card for his camera and the camera only seems to support 1gb not the 2 gb (the one he bought) anyway to format it so the camera sees it as 1gb not two or anyway to trick it?

So it's like a reversal of those fake ebay flashdrives that are made to say they have 8gb of storage when they really have 256mb?

Check for firmware upgrades for the camera, and maybe split the SD card into two 1gb partitions on windows, then see if the camera will read it.
