hi,
just got 2 quick questions:

on XP, how do I get rid of the log in screen? i had the one, where you click on the image next to your name and got rid of that in 'user accounts' from the control panel, but now instead i get the one where it asks for a password (i havent set a password, so i just press enter). i want it to load straight to the desktop.

also how can I change which applications appear in the quick launch bar next to the start tab? including the pop-up tab that comes up with two arrows >>

thank alot,
monoman

on XP, how do I get rid of the log in screen? Go to run in the start menu and type in "control userpasswords2" without quotes. highlight your user name and then uncheck the box that says something to the effect of you must enter a password and username to get on the computer click apply and then ok.i had the one, where you click on the image next to your name and got rid of that in 'user accounts' from the control panel, but now instead i get the one where it asks for a password (i havent set a password, so i just press enter). i want it to load straight to the desktop.

also how can I change which applications appear in the quick launch bar next to the start tab? including the pop-up tab that comes up with two arrows Right click on the taskbar and go to toolbars and uncheck which ones you dont want on there.

thanks suzuki,
have sorted out the 1st problem
also how can I change which applications appear in the quick launch bar next to the start tab? including the pop-up tab that comes up with two arrows Right click on the taskbar and go to toolbars and uncheck which ones you dont want on there.

for the second problem, i dont just want to choose whether quick launch is displayed or not, but i want to change the applications that appear in there.

just drag and drop the icons which you want to use in the quick launch toolbar. If they arent on your desktop, create a shortcut to your desktop and then drag it into the quicklaunch toolbar. Sorry, i misinterpreted what you said. as far as the arrows, unlock your taskbar and drag the quicklaunch until it dissapears, the arrows are because your quicklaunch is smushed!

hi,
no need to be sorry, thanks alot for helping me!
ive sorted it now, just have the three icons and no arrows.
have a good day, monoman:)

Yup, no problem. I personally like a clean computer and took off the quick launch! Actually, all the toolbars and locked the taskbar. On my desktop i have a my computer icon, my documents, recycle bin, IE7 and outlook express. Too many icons drives me nuts.
