Quick question about e-sata

The computer case I'm looking at purchasing right now says it has e-sata on its front port. Does that mean I can use e-sata, regardless whether my motherboard has that feature?

I think it's just a matter of taking a sata cable and hook it up from a sata port on the motherboard and hook the other end up to the esata port on the case. Esata is basically called external sata.
