okay so lets get started.

i might be able to get 2 8600GT 512MB cards. one from Asus and the ofther is an Xpert Vision. now i want to run them in SLI as i have an SLI Bridge and an unused 3Way SLI Bridge. but im not entirely sure if i can run an Asus and Xpert Vision SLI.

does that matter or as long as its the same chip and memory its fine?

as long as it's the same model it's fine, they'll downclock and lock vram off until they are the same specs, so that's irrelevant.

no it can be any manufacturer, but must b same model
e.g. an xfx 8600gt will work with an asus 8600gt, but an asus 8600gt won't work with an asus 8800gt.

What jonnyp11 is right tho, if you have a 8800gt with 1gb of memory and another 8800gt (manufacturer irrelevent), but only has 512mb of ram, the 1gb card will downgrade to 512mb, this is true of the clock speed aswell.

ahh ok. because i can get a single card for about 15$ which i might get if i can afford it after my fine payment. then i can find a second 8600GT 512mb for a bit more (20$) so i might do that
