quick question

Nope start of Microsofts license states that you may run one version of windows on only one processor which means one computer.

Ku-Sama you can't

1.1 Installation and use. You may install, use, access, display and run one copy of the Software on a single computer, such as a workstation, terminal or other device ("Workstation Computer"). The Software may not be used by more than one processor at any one time on any single Workstation Computer.

i thought that you could if you called mic.... oh, he's trying to use it on two computers at once? i thought he ment migrating it

You may be able to if you phone them but that costs like $25 anyway. But if you don't phone them your not allowed. I think hes trying to use the same disk with the same serial key to install it on a different laptop.

No, you cant have it on BOTH. You could take it off your laptop, phone Microsoft and THEN install, but it cant be on both at one time.

I'll add another question...
Are you allowed to have it on the same computer two times?
I used my Dell installation disk to reinstall Windows in VMware. It seems (strangely enough) that the three uses on my license key have expired. I only used two...
It's annoying. Now I've only got 29 days with Windows and I can't reinstall (even physically).

And maybe Dell should have had the disk check the BIOS string. I shouldn't have been able to do this in the first place...

Im not really sure. You should be able to reinstall windows on the same computer that it was on before because you would still only have one copy running. Im not really sure.
